Ski Bluewood

Formerly known as “Bluewood Ski Area,” Ski Bluewood is situated in the Blue Mountains and just a short drive from Dayton. This well-kept Walla Walla secret offers uncrowded slopes, surprisingly short lift lines, and the second-highest base elevation of any ski resorts near Walla Walla, WA!

Ferguson Ridge Ski Area

Several of our favorite spots for skiing near Walla Walla, WA remain temporarily closed, so we’ve included a few from further afield — like Ferguson Ridge Ski Area, located in northeastern Oregon in the Wallowa valley about 9 miles southeast of Joseph. This small, community-run ski area is run and operated by Eagle Cap Ski Club volunteers. Other ski resorts near Walla Walla, WA may be a shorter drive from home, but we think it’s worth the extra time to check out a true community gem!

Cottonwood Butte Ski Area

Ready for an escape? We highly recommend taking a little drive to Cottonwood Butte! This modest ski area has something to please skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels — from a gentle 30-foot bunny slope with a rope tow, to four groomed downhill runs and several powder-filled trails among the trees. You’ll find Cottonwood Butte in north central Idaho, just west of nearby Cottonwood.

Andies Prairie Sno-Park

If you’re looking for skiing near Walla Walla, WA that’s focused on cross-country routes, then the Andies Prairie Sno-Park should be at the top of your list. Thanks to a closed-for-winter road system, there’s a wide range of landscapes to explore on your skis — from wide-open prairie trails to dense forests.
