Although Walla Walla is primarily known for its wineries and restaurants, there are other small businesses in the industry that make their homes here. Many have unique origin stories, but this week I sat down with Marchand, the owner of Sky Parlor, to talk about her experience.
At only 23 when Sky Parlor opened last September, it was not something she thought was going to happen so quickly. It wasn’t just a case of the “new entrepreneur jitters.” Marchand had been recovering from brain surgery, and had to relearn basic skills — such as how to walk!
At first it was tough. Plagued by constant vertigo, the only relief she could find was by doing lashes. She goes on to explain that she could focus and do lashes, but the true hard part was the setup and walking her guest back to the front after they were done. She sometimes had to crawl!
Nevertheless, she has persevered with the support of her family and created a new business in Walla Walla. Sky Parlor is one of the only places in town that offers threading and microblading. Of course, Marchand does a wonderful job on lashes.
The space is right on Main Street too! Convenient and cute. Check out the short video to get a feel of it and make an appointment with them right from their Facebook page!
